Iconic Sheffield music venue hits back as police attend after Covid call

Last night, police were informed that people in the queue outside the Leadmill in Sheffield were not being required to keep their distance from each other by the venue's management.
But the venue instantly hit back on social media accusing the caller of lying, wasting police time and further damaging an already struggling business.

Hide AdOn Twitter, they wrote: “To whoever called the police saying our queue of a handful of people weren't socially distanced despite being 2m apart in clearly marked areas maybe try not wasting valuable police time and kicking an industry that is on its knees.”
The Leadmill is iconic in Sheffield as the venue where legendary city band Pulp played one of their first-ever gigs.
They reopened for the first time in six months just a few days ago and have also been fundraising to keep themselves afloat.
