Winger Rob Worrincy hailed 'one of the best'
Aston has presided over several weeks of pre-season training where Worrincy has been one of several to impress following his return to the Steel City on a one-year deal.
At 34, eyebrows may have been raised when Aston enticed the ex-Halifax flyer back for a fourth spell, but the Eagles chief still thinks Worrincy is still one of the second tier’s standout operators.

He has made himself into a top end Championship player, and even last year I still thought he was one of the best wingers in the competition. He's still firing on all cylinders.”
After losing the popular Ben Blackmore, who opted for a return to Featherstone, Aston knew there were some big boots to fill for 2020, confirming he had to talk Worrincy out of a possible retirement plan for one last hurrah with the Eagles.
Aston added: “When I heard that Rob was thinking about retiring, I spoke to him at length, and he said he would love to come back, so we made it happen.
“He's as strong as he's ever been, and he still has the hunger to keep going and be successful. We have lost Ben Blackmore but now we have Rob Worrincy so we have replaced him with real quality.”
