Of course, since the two clubs last locked horns at S6 in October 2014 the Hornets spent five years in the Premier League until their relegation back to the Sky Bet Championship at the end of last season.
But what’s happened to the players who lined up for the Owls in a 3-0 defeat back in the autumn of 2014?
1. Keiren Westwood
The 35-year-old goalkeeper is still with the club but has been frozen out of the first team picture since November of last year. He is currently training with the club’s under 23s as Joe Wildsmith and Cameron Dawson battle it out for the number one spot. Photo: Laurence Griffiths
2. Sam Hutchinson
Fan favourite Hutchinson left the club after more than six years and over 100 appearances at S6 when his contract expired at the end of last season. He's now a free agent and reports in the national media in recent weeks have linked him with a move to Watford. Photo: Steve Ellis
3. Tom Lees
Former club captain Lees, like Westwood, is still on the payroll at Hillsborough but unlike the goalkeeper has enjoyed a return to first team action. The former Leeds United man has clocked up more than 200 appearances for Wednesday since joining the club in the summer of 2014. Photo: Steve Ellis
4. Glenn Loovens
The Dutch defender spent four-and-a-half years at Wednesday, making 150 appearances for the club. Loovens, widely regarded as former Owls boss Carlos Carvalhal's trusted lieutenant on and off the pitch, left the club at the end of the 2018 season. He subsequently joined Sunderland but left the Black Caps in August 2019 and retired as a player a month later. Photo: JPI Media
