Sheffield Wednesday boss Darren Moore has admitted the club are looking at ‘one or two’ possible attacking additions as they look to put the finishing touches on their squad this summer.

The Owls boss had made clear over the last few weeks that he feels the side requires more attacking firepower, a reality that was laid bare in the midweek Carabao Cup win over Sunderland when rookie Luke Cook was brought off the bench.

Former Rotherham United target man Michael Smith was added to the squad in the summer but suffered a pre-season injury that looks likely to keep him out in the short term.

A host of players have been linked with a possible move to the club over the past few months including Hull City’s Mallik Wilks, who remains a target despite the deal reaching something of an impasse.

Work goes on to bring fresh attacking talent into the fold and Moore suggested that while nothing was massively imminent in terms of getting a deal over the line, there were two players in particular the club have their eye on in the short-term.
