and live on Freeview channel 276
Garry Monk and Wednesday management had a busy summer as they brought in a whole lot of new faces at Hillsborough, with Aden Flint and Jack Marriott coming in on deadline day to make it a total of nine new signings in total.
Now, with the window closed, Monk will have to delve into the free agent market if he’s to bring in anybody else, and there are some potentially interesting names out there should the Owls boss be keen to bring in even more competition.
We took a look at some of them…

Irvine is a player that Massimo Luongo knows well having played together at international level for Australia, and he’s currently on the lookout for a new club following his exit from relegated Hull City at the end of the 2019/20 campaign.
At 27, he’s still a good age, and the midfielder offers a range of versatility and steel in that seems to be on Monk’s profile when looking for players. He missed only four games in the Championship last season, and was named as captain for a number of the final games.
Andre Green
He’s a name that has been linked with Owls for some time now, and he’s also still available following his exit from Aston Villa not so long ago.
Having only recently turned 22, Green has the best ahead of him in terms of his football career, and has plenty of Championship experience having played 55 games for Villa, Charlton Athletic and Preston North End.

Kevin Stewart
Another one that might have a bit of a point to prove after last season is Irvine’s old Hull teammate, Stewart. He played 27 games in the Championship in 2019/20, but missed a chunk in the middle of the season due to a metatarsal injury.
The 27-year-old has a good upbringing having spent time with both Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool among others, and has a bit of Premier League experience under his belt having made 11 appearances for the Reds in the top flight. He joined Hull for around £4m in 2017.
Rajiv van la Parra
Van la Parra is available as a freebie after leaving Red Star Belgrade, and the winger – who is the half-brother of Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum – has plenty of experience in England after helping Huddersfield Town to promotion in 2017.

Victor Alvarez
One that’s probably pretty left-field – in more ways than one – is former Espanyol defender, Alvarez.
He’s played over 75 games in LaLiga over the years (he’s still just 27, though), and recently moved on from Arsenal Tula in Russia. He’s played all down the left-hand side, which could make him an interesting option for Monk and his 3-5-2 formation.
Was linked with a Spanish return with Rayo Vallecano not long ago.
