Massimo Luongo boost for Sheffield Wednesday?

Luongo hasn’t played for the Owls in over a month, playing 45 minutes in the 2-0 defeat the hands of Huddersfield, and there has been some questions regarding when he would be back available again.
Now though, with an FA Cup Fourth Round tie against the Toffees on the horizon, it appears that the Australian international is back in training with his Wednesday teammates – although it remains to be seen whether he will be in contention for the trip to Goodison Park.

Hide AdThe club posted on their official Twitter account pictures of Luongo, as well as new signing, Andre Green, and returning striker, Jack Marriott, with the latter two certainly expected to be at least part of the squad for this weekend’s game.
With regards to other injury concerns, however, Neil Thompson is set to give some clarity on who is and isn’t available in his Friday press conference this afternoon – only then will it become clearer who could feature.
The likes of Keiren Westwood, Chey Dunkley and Julian Börner are among those who have been forced to sit games out in recent weeks, but the break forced upon the Owls by the COVID-19 outbreak could well have given them time to get back available again.
Wednesday face Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton at 8pm on Sunday night as they look to secure a Fifth Round spot against either Wycombe Wanderers or Tottenham Hotspur.
