The 12-goal striker, out of contract at the end of the season, has missed the Owls' last two fixtures due to illness.
Speaking after their 3-2 defeat at Stoke City, boss Garry Monk told The Star: "It has taken a little bit longer than expected.

"He was back on the bike on today (Boxing Day) and we will assess him in the morning. Fletch may have a chance for the weekend.”
The Potters claimed a dramatic comeback win over the Owls after late goals from substitutes Tyrese Campbell and Sam Vokes.
Monk, who blasted his team's display, said: "It is a big blow that he [Fletcher] was out but that’s no excuse."
