Best v Worst – Sheffield Wednesday v Norwich City is the Championship’s biggest mismatch this weekend

Between October 2005 and April 2009, the Owls won all of their games against the Canaries over the course of four seasons in the Championship, however since then have managed just two wins in their nine meetings.
And on current form, you wouldn’t think that that was going to change this weekend.

Daniel Farke will no doubt be wary of the banana skin that an out-of-form team can provide for title-chasers like themselves, but Darren Moore’s side will need to be at the very top of their game if they’re going to get something against a side that have won their last seven games on the bounce.
Over the last six games Norwich have scored 12 goals and conceded one, picking up 18 points and taking a 10-point lead at the top of the table. For Wednesday, it’s the polar opposite – collecting zero points, scoring just three and conceding 13. It’s a complete mismatch.
This weekend’s game at Hillsborough will be the 59th meeting of the two sides following their first encounter in the FA Cup back in 1908 (Norwich won that one 2-0), with Wednesday winning 24, drawing 16 and losing 18 of them.

Moore has a major task on his hands this weekend against a side well on track to secure Premier League promotion, but stranger things have happened in football and he’ll be hoping that he can finally pick up his first win since taking over from Neil Thompson just over a week ago.
