Wilder, whose squad is unbeaten in seven after being promoted last term, paid tribute to those tasked with keeping its members in rude health having confirmed United will be at full-strength for the meeting with Steve Bruce’s side.
“That work, the people away from the lights, they’re so important,” Wilder said. “You are always going to pick up problems but the type you want to avoid, the pulls the strains and the niggles, we’ve not been getting. And that’s down, I think, to the work that’s been going in.”

Hide AdBruce, one of Wilder’s predecessors at Bramall Lane, resigned his position at Sheffield Wednesday to take charge of tomorrow’s visitors. Having faced United during his spell in charge of their arch-rivals, he is not surprised by the progress they have made in the top-flight.
“The energy and drive the team have, which obviously comes from the top, is no surprise,” Bruce said. “It’s no surprise that they are making a fist of it in the Premier League. They’re a very decent side with good players.”
