The Mexican retained his IBF Intercontinental Flyweight Title having inflicted a shock for defeat on the Intake fighter last year.
Frank (13-2) had the better of the early stages of the fight and was unlucky to lose on a split decision. Speaking in his post-match interview, the 27-year-old admitted he was confident of a result despite something of a fightback by Guarneros (19-4-2) in the latter stages.

“I thought I nicked it in my heart of hearts,” Frank said. “If I thought I'd lost, I'd just say.
“I'll be honest I thought [I won] the first seven or eight rounds. I got a bit sloppy towards the end, I was getting caught with daft shots, but I did think I did enough.
“It was close, towards the end there might have been a couple of rounds in it but I thought I nicked it.

Frank’s fellow Steel City fighter Perry Howe retained his unbeaten start as a professional (3-0-1) by beating Latvian journeyman Jevgenijs Andrejevs (10-113-3) by virtue of his first technical knockout in the fourth round.
Howe said: “The referee probably made a good decision there, he was taking some hammer and I’m glad for his own safety he got stopped and I hope he’s alright.”
