This was the scene in Sheffield city centre as a spectacular snow blizzard swept through.
The city has been subjected to a mixture of snow, hail and sleet today, Tuesday, February 11, and forecasts suggest there is to be no let-up in the severe weather throughout the rest of the day.
More snow is expected this evening, when 40mph gusts are set to make it feel like -3C.
The icy conditions have caused major disruption in parts of the city today.
