They both remain in police custody.
Police have now confirmed that investigating officers do not believe this incident is related to two seperate ‘targeted’ shootings that took place in Mexborough on Wednesday and Thursday last week.
Detective Chief Inspector Craig Jackson, from the Doncaster Policing Unit, said: “At this stage we do not believe there is any link between the recovery of this firearm and the incidents in
Mexborough last week. The firearm and drugs will now be forensically examined to establish any links to other crimes.”
