LNER has urged customers to arrange their Christmas travel plans as early as possible ahead of planned works this festive season.
From 25 to 30 December inclusive, Network Rail is embarking on a six-day closure of London King’s Cross station to complete complex engineering work as part of the East Coast Upgrade programme. During the closure, customers are being advised not to travel to or from London.

Following the 25-30 December closure of London King's Cross, further engineering works will mean substantially reduced capacity at the station from 31 December to 3 January 2021, with a reduced timetable in operation.
Tickets for the entire festive period will be released for sale from 27 November, enabling customers to plan and book their outbound and return journeys at the same time. All LNER services are reservation only, ensuring that customers are allocated a socially distanced seat for their journey.
A spokesperson for LNER, said: “We understand the disruption this engineering work may cause to Christmas plans this year, so we are urging our customers to plan and book their travel as early as possible.”
