Several major city centre streets were shut by police this morning

A man has been safely brought down from a set of scaffolding in Sheffield city centre and arrested for affray.

Pinstone Street, at the top of The Moor, as well as nearby Cambridge Street and Charles Street, were cordoned off by police this morning after being called out for concerns for the wellbeing of a man on a building site.

The individual was arrested on suspicion of affray and the cordon has been lifted.

It comes just days after a large area of the city centre was closed for around 36 hours on Monday night after a man climbed a crane and stayed there until Wednesday.
