The former Italian under-21 international had a running battle with Hudson, who was cautioned towards the end of the first half after upending the striker.
Hudson was lucky to escape a second yellow card just before the hour mark after fouling Forestieri out wide. He was given a final warning by referee Iain Williamson and swiftly withdrawn by Huddersfield boss David Wagner.

“He should have been sent off but I don’t want to talk about it anymore.”
Owls chief Carlos Carvalhal felt it was a “clear” sending-off.
Wagner added: “I think it was very clear that if there was another situation where Mark was involved, the referee would send him off.
“We wanted to make sure we would end the game playing 11 v 11.”
