Sheffield United: Blades lose out on Alex Revell as striker joins Northampton Town
The former Rotherham United striker also rejected a contract at MK Dons and was confirmed as a Cobblers player earlier today.
Former Blade Robert Page, who replaced current Blades boss Chris Wilder as Northampton boss, said: “Alex is a fantastic signing for us and I am delighted to welcome him to the club.

I have spoken a lot about character being important, and Alex is exactly the type of character we want at the club.”
Revell, who stands at 6ft 3in, has a host of experience at Championship level and turned out for Cardiff, Wigan and MK Dons last season. Blades boss Wilder wants a 'target-man' style striker to complement his existing striking options, which include Billy Sharp, Che Adams, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Matt Done.
