Sheffield school celebrates significant rise in attendance and punctuality
Figures for Fir Vale Academy, in Fir Vale, has shown that attendance is at its highest since 2014 - and is now higher than the national average.
Punctuality has also improved at the school, with the number of late marks cut by 30 per cent since September.

Hide AdHeadteacher Simon Hawkins said there has been big improvements throughout the year.
"The big improvements since September 2017 in attendance and punctuality reflect strong partnership work between our academy, pupils, parents and families and the local community," he said.
"The attendance and pastoral teams work tirelessly to promote attendance and our morning community team promote active engagement and welcome pupils into school on time.
"Being open, welcoming, inclusive and offering a caring, safe and ambitious place to learn are part of our ethos.

Pupils who have gained 100 per cent attendance have been rewarded with a chance of winning a £25 meal voucher thanks to Vision for Education.
