Praise for '˜amazing' Sheffield nurse
Amika Challacombe started working at Sheffield Children’s Hospital earlier this week as a WellChild children’s nurse.
The new post, which has been set up by charity WellChild, has been funded by a grant from ITV’s Text Santa Appeal.

Hide AdAmika will support families by working with the community, hospitals and other specialist centres to ensure the highest quality of care.
She will help to reduce the time children on long term ventilation have to spend in hospital by arranging the care they need at home and providing specialist advice, as well as emotional and practical support for the whole family.
One child who is already benefitting from Amika’s services is 12-year-old Ibraheem Nadeem.
Ibraheem has two genetic conditions, Pycnodysostosis, a condition which causes brittle bones leading to many bone fractures, and Pantothenate Kinase-Associated Neurodegeneration, a degenerative brain disease.
Ibraheem’s mother Tazim Ghani said: “Amika is amazing.

“She has a really good relationship with Ibraheem and visits him regularly. I feel I can ring Mika at any time and she always comes back to me.”
Amika said: “I am in a very privileged position, seeing families at their best and worst of times but hopefully I can make it all a bit easier for families.”
