Heeley residents say the junction of Little London Road and Chesterfield Road, which is used by pedestrians to get to and from B&M, Lidl and the Sloan Medical Centre, is dangerous.
Mum Steph Edwards, who started the petition, said: "It’s a nightmare trying to cross with my two small children as cars are coming at you from three directions."

Hide AdCampaigner Tony Tigwell said the problems started when the road was widened last year to three lanes to help buses operating on the busy bus route.
“The road widening has made the junction very busy. The kerb has been lowered so most people cross at the most dangerous point, particularly mums with pushchairs and people in wheelchairs.
“We’re not engineers but with think railings would protect people or putting a lower kerb further down, away from the corners of that junction,” said Tony/
Local Labour Party members have been asking people in the street to sign the petition.
