A car park could be revamped into an "iconic centrepiece" to blend in with new Heart of the City 2 developments in Sheffield city centre.

Sheffield Council wants to refresh Telephone House, the Wellington Street car park near Charter Row, with cladding, fresh coats of paint and new lighting.

The council has submitted an application to its own planning department and says: "Under this vision for the city centre, there are proposals for retail units, grade A offices, restaurants and bars, entertainment venues, urban living, boutique hotels and attractive public spaces.
