Man fined for using dead father's disabled parking badge
Lee Bartrop, 38, of Middle Avenue, Rawmarsh pleaded guilty by letter to using his deceased father’s blue badge to park his car on Main Street, Rotherham in March 2016.
Bartrop was fined £255 with £300 costs and £25 victim surcharge at a hearing at Rotherham Magistrates Court last week.

Hide AdAt the same hearing, Stephen Lightfoot, 47, of Admiral Biggs Drive, Treeton, also pleaded guilty at court to using a deceased person’s blue badge to park his car in a disabled bay on Main Street, Rotherham in May 2016.
Lightfoot was fined £217 with £300 costs and £30 victim surcharge.
Councillor Denise Lelliott said: “To use a blue badge that was registered to a person who is now deceased is disgraceful. The council will take the strongest possible action.”
