Doncaster Rovers set for a return to reserves league
Darren Ferguson chose to quit the reserve team division last summer in order to focus solely on winning promotion back to League One at the first attempt.
The Scot instead arranged practice matches at Cantley Park.
However, a year on, Ferguson is satisfied Rovers will have enough resources to re-enter a reserve team competition.

“The league we’re going to be in, there was only six or seven teams in it this season. We’re just finding out how many teams are going to be in it.
“We’re also going to have friendlies. We’ve had quite a lot of friendlies this season at Cantley.
“We’ve played against local teams like Scunthorpe and Chesterfield and we’ve found that it’s been quite a good experience for the younger players.”

“The opportunity to play regular and competitive fixtures will only support the development of our younger players,” said Scarff.
“I firmly believe this additional stage in their development will increase their chances of establishing themselves as future first team regulars.”
