Dogs seized from Rotherham house over welfare concerns

South Yorkshire Police, the RSPCA and Rotherham Council executed a search warrant under the Animal Welfare Act and seized a number of dogs yesterday.
The police force said: “They are now safe and being looked after by RSPCA.”

Hide AdIt said none of the animals involved in the operation are believed to be stolen.
In a statement, the force added: “We have received a number of calls from people asking if any of the dogs seized are theirs.
“Just to confirm, this is not an investigation into stolen dogs. The animals were seized under the Animal Welfare Act and are not believed to be stolen dogs.
“This is an investigation being led by the RSPCA and is ongoing. Therefore at this stage we cannot give out further details as we don't want to harm their case in any way.”
