Sergio Debrito, aged 27, was found guilty of wounding after an attack in a woman’s house in Batemoor, which has left his victim with a life-long medical condition.
Sheffield Crown Court heard how Debrito and another man ended up sharing a taxi home with two women from Sheffield city centre in May 2019.

When asked to stop, he is said to have become ‘aggressive’ and followed one of the women around the house before locking the front door.
Fearing for her safety, the woman attempted to grab the key back from Debrito but he punched her in her face, rendering her unconscious. He also pushed her into a door during the incident.
Debrito left his victim with serious facial injuries and a collapsed lung, which still causes her breathing problems today.

“Debrito persisted with taking photographs and when asked to stop, he became aggressive, following his victim around the house and then locking the front door. Terrified about what might happen next, the victim tried to get the key back and Debrito punched her, knocking her unconscious.
“As his victim came round, she tried to defend her friend, however, Debrito hit her again, pushing her into a door.”
Debrito filmed the incident on his mobile phone.
DC Vine added: “This was a terrifying ordeal and left a young woman with serious injuries, Debrito is a violent man who should not be on the streets of our city.
