Van destroyed in overnight blaze in Sheffield

Crews from Sheffield Central station were called to the fire on playing fields off Northern Avenue, Arbourthorne at about 4am.

By the time crews arrived, the Ford Transit van, which had been dumped and abandoned, was well alight.

Officers used a hose reel and breathing apparatus to extinguish the flames.
