Two charged following South Yorkshire assault which left man 'seriously injured'

Joshua Stevens, 30, of Scarborough Crescent and Daniel Stevens, 32, of Strauss Crescent have both been charged with Section 18 wounding following the incident in Matlby.
Section 18 wounding is more commonly referred to as grievous bodily harm with intent and is the most serious assault charge behind attempted murder. Committed with intent, the offence carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. Police were called to a property on Novello Street at around 9.20am following reports a man had been assaulted. Joshua and Daniel Stevens were both arrested that afternoon.

Hide AdPolice confirmed the victim – a 59-year-old man – was taken to hospital in Rotherham and remains in a “serious condition” – four days after the attack. Both men have been remanded into custody and were due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates Court on Friday morning (24 April).
