Cannabis plants worth £150,000 have been seized by South Yorkshire Police in an operation in Barnsley.

Officers found 168 plants, worth £150,000, in properties on Sheffield Road, Hoyland Common and Upper Sheffield Road, in Barnsley town centre, on Tuesday, January 21.

Following the warrants, Gabriela Zancanu, aged 46; Vasile Vasilache, 34 and Constantin Vasilache, 32, were arrested and later charged with production of cannabis.

They appeared at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court yesterday and were remanded in custody.
