Toni Leanne Goodwin, aged 36, of Remington Road, Sheffield, admitted committing a string of shop thefts as well as assaulting a store manager by spitting at him, according to a Sheffield Magistrates’ Court hearing.
Prosecuting solicitor Chantel Lowry-Green told the hearing on September 24 Goodwin stole meat from a Morrisons store, at Ecclsefield, in May, and while she was on bail she stole meat again at a Co-op in July where she spat at the store manager after he had chased her.

Hide AdGoodwin, who has previous convictions, pleaded guilty to the two thefts and the assault and also admitted a shop theft from June and three shop thefts between September 13 and 15.
Mark Dooley, defending, explained Goodwin has had a long-standing drug addiction but she has been engaging with a Drug Rehabilitation Requirement programme as part of a previously imposed community order.
He said: “Not surprisingly, she has had a long-standing drug addiction for many years and she has a variety of offences which are acquisitive and theft-related.”
Mr Dooley added Goodwin admits assaulting the Co-op store manager but the manager said he may have shouted something unpleasant which caused the defendant to turn around and spit at him.
