The youngster was shot on Northern Avenue in January, with detectives believing he was an innocent bystander caught up in a feud between rival gangs and that he was mistakenly shot while the intended target was in the area.
The incident led to a major crackdown on organised crime in the area and an increased police presence to reassure residents of their safety and to deter criminals.
South Yorkshire Police has been approached for details on last night’s incident.
