A man and woman from Sheffield arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm have been released under investigation.

The man, aged 46 and woman, 53, were arrested following a raid of a flat on Lowedges Road, Lowedges, which saw the army’s bomb squad deployed on Monday morning.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Police were executing a warrant at an address on Lowedges Road when they discovered a number of suspicious items at the property.
