Rotherham stabbing: Police appeal for information after boy, 15, stabbed in attempted robbery

A 15-year-old boy has been stabbed after an attempted robbery yesterday, prompting a police investigation.

South Yorkshire Police attended the Co-op store on Worry Goose Lane at around 6.30pm yesterday afternoon, after reports a 15-year-old had suffered stab wounds.

It is reported the victim and a friend were walking a nearby walkway, behind Greystones Road, Whiston, when they were approached by two unknown men.

The men are said to have attempted to steal the victim’s gold chain before a scuffle broke out, resulting in the victim being stabbed.

After the incident, the victim managed to get to the Worry Goose Lane Co-op, where he was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.

Officers are looking to speak to people who were in the area around the time of the assault.
