‘Rest easy Ty’: Friends set off fireworks in tribute to Sheffield man killed in M1 crash

The fireworks were set off last night following the deaths of two friends – named locally as Tyrone and Codeye – in a collision on the M1 near Woodhall – just north of Junction 31 for Sheffield.
Friends of Tyrone met to remember the young man and videos of their firework display was shared online as a tribute.

Hide AdTyrone and Codeye died when the white Volkswagen Golf they were travelling in left the carriageway and hit a barrier and trees before overturning and landing on its roof.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at around 7.30pm and raced to the crash scene but the two men in the car, who were aged 20 and 22, could not be saved.
No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.
South Yorkshire Police said: “The driver of the Golf is believed to have lost control, causing the car to leave the carriageway and collide with the barrier and several trees before coming to rest on its roof.”
“We are asking any witnesses to the collision, or anyone who witnessed the Golf prior, to get in touch.
