A police probe into a death in Sheffield is continuing today after a man was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Emergency services were deployed to a flat on Gell Street, Broomhall, after reports of an unresponsive man at 5am last Friday.

The 49-year-old, who has not yet been named, was pronounced dead at the scene when paramedics arrived.

South Yorkshire Police said ‘extensive enquiries’ are under way to ‘ascertain the exact circumstances’ surrounding the death.

A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.
