Police incident blocks bridge in Sheffield city centre

Tram services to and from Sheffield city centre have been disrupted following a police incident.

Stagecoach Supertram confirmed an incident on Park Square Bridge at around 8pm blocked access in both directions for about one hour.

Details about what happened were not given.

The bridge connects routes from the centre of town to Meadowhall, Sheffield Train Station and Rotherham.

Stagecoach Supertram said some services are now running again but with delays. Others have been cancelled.

South Yorkshire Police has been contacted for further information.
