Marcus Ramsay murder: Everything we know about Sheffield stabbing one week on

- Marcus Ramone Ramsay, aged 35, was stabbed in his chest when violence flared at a house party on Horninglow Road, Firth Park, in the early hours of Saturday, August 8.
- South Yorkshire Police said the force was notified about the knife attack at 12.20am.

Hide Ad- When police officers and paramedics arrived at the scene there was a crowd of around 100 people gathered in the street.
- Both emergency services described the crowd as ‘hostile’ and it was reported to have been difficult for ambulances to get to the injured man until officers cleared a route through.
- A police officer administered initial emergency first aid until public order was restored and ambulances could reach the patient.
- Marcus, a dad-of-two, was taken to the Northern General Hospital but could not be saved and was pronounced dead a short time later.

Hide Ad- Four other men, all 24, were also injured during the incident and were treated at hospital but survived.
- No arrests have yet been made.
- Detectives believe that a number of those at the house party had attended an illegal rave in Concord Park, Shiregreen, earlier in the night.
- They have issued an appeal for anyone at either of the events to come forward and share any mobile phone footage they may have in a bid to help establish the movements of those involved in the attack.
- Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Mark Oughton, who is leading the police probe, said there were ‘potentially dozens of witnesses’.

Hide Ad- An inquest into Mr Ramsay’s death was opened and adjourned yesterday for further enquiries to be carried out.
- Police patrols have been stepped up in Firth Park in the wake of the stabbing.
