A man who used false documents to try and get work for his half-brother has been placed under a curfew.

Sheffield Crown Court heard yesterday, June 9, how Rustams Tillers, aged 38, of St Helen’s Way, Monk Bretton, Barnsley, turned-up at two workplaces and gave a fake name and presented false identification documents to secure a job for his half-brother.

Hannah Walker, prosecuting, said Tillers gave another’s name to obtain employment on his behalf including a forklift truck document and during the second incident in Barnsley he produced a bank card and a bill with his brother’s details.

Stephen Littlewood, defending, said Tillers did not know the documents were fake and he was trying to get work for his half-brother who has returned to Latvia.

Recorder Adrian Langdale sentenced Tillers to a 12-month community order with a 28-day curfew.
