Man suffered serious injuries during assault after thousands thronged Sheffield park

South Yorkshire Police said the officers were called to the park at 8.45pm after the man collapsed near the Rustlings Road/Ecclesall Road entrance on March 31.
The man is believed to have been assaulted inside the park shortly before he collapsed.

Hide AdThe police said he had suffered a serious head injury and remains in hospital recovering following surgery.
Now the force are asking witnesses or those with information to come forward to assist in their enquiries.
Detective Constable Lee Freeman, investigating, said: “We know there were large numbers of people in the park that night, and I am asking for anyone who saw what happened, or has any information as to how the man came by his injuries, to come forward.
“I am also keen to hear from anyone with mobile phone footage or CCTV which may have captured the incident to call us.
