Two men, aged 20 and 22, died in a collision on the northbound M1 between Junction 30 for Barlborough and 31 for Sheffield, last Sunday night.
South Yorkshire Police said the car they were travelling in – a white Volkswagen Golf – left the carriageway, hit a barrier and a number of trees before overturning and landing on its roof.
The two men in the car were pronounced dead at the scene.

The casualties have been named locally as Codeye and Tyrone.
Tyrone's friend Jordan Parker has organised an online fundraising appeal to help pay for his funeral and to support his young son.
On his Go Fund Me page, Jordan said: “This is for Tyrone’s funeral, we want to raise some money towards it to get him the best send off possible.

Last night friends of Tyrone gathered and set off fireworks in his memory as a tribute to the young dad.
A police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is under way.
Officers want to hear from witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage.
