A drink-driver was brought to justice after she pulled out in front of a police vehicle.

Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard on March 19 how Chelsea Louise Heggie, aged 27, had been driving a BMW in Sheffield when she pulled out in front of concerned police officers.

Robert Coyne, prosecuting, said: “Police officers were on mobile patrol when they described a BMW pulling out in front of them.”

Police followed the vehicle along Sheaf Street on February 9 and spotted it straying into on-coming traffic before Heggie was further followed and stopped at Attercliffe Common.

Heggie, of Healey Gardens, Batley, West Yorkshire, pleaded guilty to exceeding the alcohol drink-drive limit.

She told the court: “I do regret everything I did that day and I have been worrying about how it will affect me.”

Magistrates fined Heggie £350 and ordered her to pay £85 costs and a £35 victim surcharge. She was banned from driving for 12 months.
