A MAN is today fighting for his life in a Sheffield hospital after being stabbed in the city.
Police say the man, who has not yet been named, is 19-years-of age and local.

He was taken by car to the Northern General Hospital in the early hours of Saturday and was dropped off at around 2.30am.

Doctors say he has a number of injuries to
his upper body.

His condition today is described by police as critical.

South Yorkshire Police spokesman Andy Hymas said:

"Details surrounding the circumstances are very vague at this stage.

"However it is believed that the assault happened in the early hours but as yet it is not known where the attack actually took place."

Three men all in their late teens who took the injured teenager to hospital are currently being questioned by police.

Detectives are urging anyone who can help piece together the movements of the 19-year-old up until he was attacked, to please contact the incident room at Ecclesfield Police Station on Sheffield 2964515.
