The Sheffield Parkinson’s Support Group is organising its third annual awareness day, a free event for everyone affected by the condition.

Organised by volunteers, the event brings a mix of news, information and social connection, and is all made possible thanks to a generous legacy.

This year the focus is very much on the support side, with less emphasis on clinical research and more on real people.

Organisers say they listened to feedback from previous years, which has influenced a different approach to the event this year. The panellists include members of the organisation who will give real life insights, and discuss everything from symptoms they experience to support networks that could help you manage your Parkinson’s better.

And as well as an interesting and varied selection of talks – visit the website as more are being announced as the date draws clear – they’ve built in extra time for lunch and mingling.
