Triple Point Brewing, on Shoreham Street, has launched its latest beer – called Substantial Meal – to help support the growing numbers of individuals and families across the country who have been left in food poverty due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
An Indian pale ale with a 4.6 per cent alcohol volume, Substantial Meal is described as a ‘tropical, citrus, hazy, session IPA’ with a ‘pithy orange bitterness’.

The webpage reads: “Who needs a Substantial Meal?’ Sad to say, we were moping around wishing more of our pub customers served substantial meals, so that we could sell more beer.
“Then it dawned on us that we actually have it pretty good and the people who really need a substantial meal are the children going hungry. So this new brew, our Substantial Meal IPA, is for them. Not literally of course, it's 4.6% ABV! But for every can sold, £1 will go to combat food poverty via Work For Good.”
Triple Point says the money from the sales of the beer will be sent via Work For Good, an online fundraising platform which makes it easy for small businesses to donate to charity.
