Sustainable cafe Dysh offers an alternative to the hustle and bustle of Sheffield's Ecclesall Road
The seven-person team at Dysh has received ‘wonderful feedback’ since it opened in March, with their customers appreciating its focus on being eco-friendly and locally sourced.
Stuart Broomhead, the co-owner, said: “In today’s world, we need to be sustainable.”

The 31-year-old added: “We recycle as much as we can, and even use our spent coffee grounds on our allotment.
“All our takeaway cups, boxes, cutlery and napkins are one hundred per cent compostable.”
Owners Stuart and his partner Alice Cassinelli love and have followed the work of Cafeology, a local coffee company, for years, which led them to use their produce in their cafe.

Their entire menu has been a hit with their visitors, but their small plates at lunchtime, which resemble British tapas, have gone down ‘incredibly well’.
Co-owner Alice, 25, who spearheaded Dysh, is also their Michelin trained executive chef and has a keen interest in pastry, so has excelled in the afternoon teas they offer.
“It was an interesting time to open with our first three months of trading each having different restrictions, but the customers were amazing.

“Since being able to actually welcome people to our sun terrace at the back of the building, we’ve been told it’s ‘like Sheffield Riviera’,” said Stuart.
The team, at the coffee shop at 778-780 Ecclesall Road ‘can’t wait’ to introduce exciting, new plans in the near future, including bistro nights, wine tastings, and afternoon tea parties.
Stuart said: “Let’s just hope July 19 is the end of the restrictions for all.”
