Reduction in new Covid cases in Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley but increase in Doncaster

According to the latest weekly figures for local authority areas for the seven days to February 1, there were 207.2 new cases per 100,000 people in Sheffield compared to 234.6 the week before.
A total number of 1,212 cases were reported compared to 1,372 the previous week.

Hide AdIn Rotherham there were 218.9 cases per 100,000 people and 581 new cases in total compared to a rate of 279.6 per 100,000 and 742 new cases the week before.
In Barnsley there were 203.3 new cases per 100,000 people compared to 261.7 the previous week.
A total of 502 new cases were detected compared to 646 one week earlier.
But in Doncaster the figure rose.
There were 224.4 new cases per 100,000 people reported compared to 211.9 the week before.

Hide AdA total of 700 new cases were recorded, which was up from 661 the week before.
Of the 315 local areas in England, 15 – five per cent – have seen an increase in case rates and 300 – 95 per cent –have seen a reduction.
Yesterday, NHS England announced another 1,014 Covid deaths of hospital patients, bringing the national total to 111,264.
In Sheffield, 810 patients are known to have died in hospitals but the city’s death toll in total is over 1,000.A total of 525 hospital patients have died in Rotherham after testing positive, 539 have passed away in Barnsley and 675 have died in Doncaster.
