The latest available data reveals seven areas of the region registered 15 or more cases in the seven days to 24 September, with 19 Sheffield neighbourhoods reaching double figures for infections during this period.
There were 494 positive coronavirus cases in Sheffield between September 19 and 25, up 222 from the previous week.
The infection rate for this period was 84 cases per 100,000 people, while in Rotherham it was 83. The average area in England had 26.
