Andrew Jones, Director of Education at Sheffield City Council said all Sheffield schools are currently open, however some children, young people, and staff have been sent home to isolate.
He said: “Where there is an incidence of Covid-19 the school will continue to carry out appropriate health and safety measures with support from our Public Health team at Sheffield City Council to work out the best course of action.

"This depends on how many contacts that a person with COVID-19 has as well as the duration of contact."
Most schools have set up ‘bubbles’ of children and staff, with contact with other bubbles limited in a bid to reduce the transmission of Covid-19.
Andrew Jones added: “Schools are experiencing issues with the current shortage of testing appointments available but we are working with them closely to help children and staff access these.

“As a reminder, we urge people to book a test if they have symptoms of Covid-19 which are; a high temperature, a new, continuous cough or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste.
“If you have symptoms you must self-isolate at home and only leave your home to get a test.”
