The school has nearly 100 children with special educational needs on their books.

A Sheffield special school is closed to students today (July 17) following a power cut.

Heritage Park School, in Norfolk Park Road, texted parents this morning at 7.15am informing them their children cannot come in today.

The text reads: “We will have to close school today to all students due to there being no electricity on site, therefore it is unsafe to open.

“Apologies for this short notice. This was only discovered this morning.”
